Running too fat
You may have heard that there is a plus-size model on the cover of women's running. Or you may have seen the article in Runner's World Play Fat Girl. I was very happy to see both, but at first did not want to write about them on the blog. I want to pretend it's not a big problem, as it is not an achievement for fat / overweight / chubby / large size / whatever you want to call brokers to be recognized in such major publications.
Part of me thought: " yeah Love you girls !! Rock it!" , and another thought "Hello um last most Americans are overweight. weight why is this even a big problem. "
So the reason I do not want to write about it was because I want this to be the norm. Magazine want to show people of all sizes and colors and shapes and .... you get it.
But I decided to talk about it because
A) I really want to support these publications in the hope of starting a trend..
B.) I want to convey the message that if they are people who can inspire.
C). I identify with some of the things in the article "Fat Girl Running".
The August issue of women running has Schenk Erica. Schenk has been running for 10 years. She also happens to be a plus size model.
You can read a Q & A with Schenk here .
She is super beautiful and I could have a girl crush on her after doing some research and find other pictures of her modeling.

women running also has a great article on "El Debate Weight" and offers great information on body fat percentages and scales and measures.

The August edition features Runner's World plus size Ultra Runner and blogger Mirna Valerio . She says people are often surprised that addresses both, insinuating "If we do all this works, why are you still so fat?"
agoyears I joined a running store to buy running shoes for half marathon training and said "Are they walking?".
No. Corro thanks. Or jogging, TG, whatever.
For those of you who have not run a race before let me tell you a little secret (seasoned runners interrupt here) ...
The runners in 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, ultra marathons ... are all different sizes and ages! Promise. Really I promise.
Before my first race I was very scared and intimidated it would be the last. I would be the only fat. That would be me sweaty and sloppy and gordita and a disaster.
And I could have been.
But it definitely was not the only one who had some weight to lose. And I was shocked at the age range -. There are people tweens people looking great-grandfather
is impressive.
and runners are especially impressive because of all the endorphins. Every runner I've met in a race is friendly and curious and friendly and happy (and probably nervous or at least I am).
The point is that these two runners in magazines are no exception to the rule. Not "Hey look at that runner fat! How strange ?!"
are only brokers. Like me. Like you. Like all the hundreds of thousands of runners racing this year.
all hope and running and sound and feel different. And I like to run. So if you like to run too, it does.
And if you do not love to run to find an exercise that makes you feel good and makes you happy.
Keep going!
