4 Tips to Get Back on Track With Exercise After a Lazy Vacation

This post is OYS writer Melissa. You can read all posts here .

Last month I wrote a post on how to stay active on vacation, you can read here . Hopefully some of my tips that helped and are able to use on your next vacation. However, sometimes our best intentions go out the window when we're away, and do not go ahead with our plans to exercise. That's fine too. The holiday is meant to be to recharge your batteries, mentally and physically. So if you have just spent a week or so of drinking margaritas on the beach ... good for you! But now is the time to get back on track with your exercise routine. Read on for some helpful tips to overcome laziness.

# 1 Assess the damage

So ... get. in. he. scale. It can be painful to see you've gained a few pounds, but you know what you are dealing with. On the other hand, you might find that you did not do as much damage as you think. Probably you will not see a dramatic weight gain after only one week. Either way, you have to be realistic about what your body needs to do now. So despite only and end once and then not get on that scale for another week until you have had the opportunity to return to their healthy habits.

No. 2 Let it go

Yes, we're all probably singing that song Frozen dreaded head to see this phrase, but what to do. If you had a lazy vacation, you should not feel bad about it. I'm really jealous because I have not had one of those in a while. It should feel very good about what he has done for himself by putting their needs first for a change. Any guilt or regret that feeling must be pushed out the window now. You are lucky because you're likely to come back with a fresh attitude and a renewed sense of purpose. So literally let it go ... I'm serious ... bend over and scoop arms up very large, walk to a window, and throw everything away guilt. It sounds corny, but sometimes the physical act of throwing something helps me. I use this little trick when I'm stressed, and I literally throwing stress out the window. Just give it a try.

# 3 Make a plan

Planning is so important when you are trying to start, or in this case, restart a healthy lifestyle. Not just rely on telling yourself that you will do it. Make some kind of visible plan on paper and pencil, or in an application for sports like My Fitness Pal . Set a goal for yourself for your first week back exercise, and perhaps also to plan a small reward to treat yourself to after that first week. You can get goal-setting exercise tips Here , exercise planning tips here , and reward ideas exercise here .

# 4 Just Do It

First stealing frozen me, now I'm stealing from Nike. Something to consider: healthy habits eliminate at least three weeks to form Once that time comes, you should be able to keep your exercise habit quite smoothly .. No But it takes much less time to break a healthy habit, as in a week. So his being lazy holiday week has the potential to derail their good exercise habits, but you can overcome it. Just get right back into it as soon as you get home and you are back in their usual daily routine. If you come home and wait for any amount of time before exercising again, it's only going to get harder. You need to start exercising again immediately, as even the day after returning. You may be tired and have a million things to do, like unpacking and sorting mail, but only 30 minutes to carve out some sort of physical activity. It will give you the energy you need to plow through those post-holiday tasks, and set the tone that will exercise on a regular basis again.
