How My Blog Made Over $13,000 Last Month

Hello everyone! It is time for my monthly earnings report. Last month was my first and I'm super excited to share another report income with you today. In these reports I share my stats from last month, the amount of money I made, where it came from, and lessons learned and tips along the way. However, if you're an aspiring blogger or even a blogger who has been working for a while, then these reports are for you. I've been blogging for 5 years and I have a lot to share. My goal is to motivate and inspire you with the lessons and tips I share in these reports. I want you to see that it is 100% possible to make a living blogging full time. I do. This is my job. It is my passion, my lifestyle, and how to put food on the table and pay the bills. This is my career. I'm a blogger full time. Well now we're all on the same page that we will get to it because I want to have a career and make a lot of these brownies for my kiddos dance class tonight.

Well, now where do I begin ??? I feel I have a lot to talk about.

Let's start with traffic. My traffic remained more or less the same as last month. My goal is to get my traffic from 1.5 to 2,000,000 page views a month. This pretty much means I have to double my traffic. I listed out my blog traffic strategy last month and I'm still plugging away.

I want to point out that 63% of my traffic comes from Google or people who come to my blog directly (accessing sending emails or typing the URL of my in). This is huge and needs to be observed. We kill ourselves trying to crack the code of social communication, but perhaps the focus should be on the search engine optimization and email. I'm just saying. Something definitely going to think more.

About social media. As I said last month, I hired a manager of social media to be programmed all my posts on Facebook and Pinterest pins. This has been a godsend. It's has not resulted in increased traffic yet, but I do not necessarily think that programming is what will bring in additional traffic. Instead, hire someone to work my social media, so I have time to write content for my blog increase traffic. March All I focused on creating more content that my readers want. I dug in my anayltics Google and listed out ideas based on my best posts. Then I went to work writing. Last month I turned around with a Facebook ad for my ebook and failed miserably. I spent $ 200 and as you can see that only sold a little over $ 700 in electronic books. Honestly, I do not even know if the announcement had nothing to do with those sales. Clearly, I have still a lot to learn with Facebook ads. Anyway, I chalked it up as a lesson learned. However, when the Silk increased my recipe on his Facebook page I decided to give it a try with another post.

I chose my new " Preparing meals as Boss " post upward. Based on my previous posts I knew the food was going to be popular and good to drive on Facebook. It makes sense to promote popular messages because you want a job that will resonate with people. You want to like it, comment on it, and share it. Promote an "unpopular" Put simply shows a lot of people a place no one wants to interact. Makes sense?

Anyway, my food prep 1000x momentum is doing better than my Facebook ad. This makes perfect sense to me now. Most people just click through the Facebook ad if they wanted to buy the eBook. So unless they had money and were willing to spend that they would not bother checking out.

My meal after prep is loaded with FREE valuable information. Readers do not have to spend a dime to soak in all the knowledge of food preparation that provided in that position. However, if you want more information I put my ebook links strategically throughout. This post gives readers a good idea of ​​the type of information they can expect from me with an ebook. confidence and helps them feel comfortable spending their money is generated. I get it. You never just bought an eBook. Usually I buy an electronic book by a blogger that I follow and have read your information. It made sense to me now.

Let's talk a little more about my book . I love my ebook. I really do. It is as if a part of me because I spent a lot of time and energy to write. So why you are not selling better? Well, the problem is not with the eBook. It is with my promotion. I have spoken of my failed Facebook ad. But it is more than that. I do not have a marketing strategy to establish my ebook and I really need too. I have some ideas but not sure where to go with it. One area that could help promote my best ebook is my email list. I'm thinking about writing content (or even a course of classes), which focuses around my ebook, especially for my email subscribers. That is a goal of May. Stay tuned for that. I would like to hear from someone who uses your email list like this.

Speaking of email list that allows it to pass. It was with Aweber for a couple of years and let me say it was two years too long! Now some of you have great experiences with Aweber, but for me it was clumsy and always have issues. It never worked the way I needed to. Well, I switched to FINALLY Convertkit and OMG, where this has been all my life! I have not even scratched the surface yet, but since I am experiencing the benefits. The only thing I've done so far is to send emails (transmissions) of my current messages. But I am surprised by the amount of traffic you get to my blog my email subscribers. I never had to with Aweber. I do not mean to hit and if you like big. But Convertkit is amazing and if you are looking for email service and then go with them. From this May I have the intention to use email more. MUCH MORE. So many gurus blogs rely on the email list, so I'll take your advice and give more attention to my readers who want me in your inbox. Again, this makes sense because I find my favorite bloggers through their daily or weekly emails. Almost never learn about his latest message on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or any other social media channel. Things that make you go Hmmmm.

I'll finish this earnings report with a final thought on blog traffic. My advice is not to put all eggs in one basket, especially a basket of social media. Each unique social media platform changes its algorithm all the time. Google also happens. So the 1000 visitor Pinterest receiving every day you can go to the next. I see it all the time and read about it in the numerous Facebook groups I am. I think it could be one of the biggest complaints of bloggers have. I get it. Trust me, I understand. It sucks when traffic that has plunged into a deep dark hole never to be found again. But it can happen and most likely happen. I think this is another reason why it is so important to build a mailing list for your blog. At the end of the day your email list is the only one who has control over.

Here's my final advice traffic:

  • diversify their traffic. DO NOT depend on a single platform.
  • Create content readers want. This is the most important time and increase your traffic.
  • Try to place 3-4 times a week. In my experience, the traffic will not only grow posting 1-2 times a week. That's my experience.
  • Build your email list and have an email strategy. Obviously, this is something I have to work too. I'll have more on this in future messages revenue.
  • Create a social media strategy. Social media can be a great time suck. Having a daily strategy and leave it at that. When you reach a place of hiring someone and then do it. Basically, all I'm saying is that you do not improvise. Not wake up and share whatever whenever. Having a strategy in place.
