We've probably all heard of the many benefits of sleep, but with our busy lives, sleep tends to be the first cut it. We go through life so tired sometimes we fall asleep in the middle of meetings, dreaming of a nap and counting the days until we can sleep without setting an alarm.
Sleep deprivation is a widespread problem in the United States, with approximately 45% of Americans affected by lack of sleep on a weekly basis 1 . But there are many more advantages to get a little more sleep, you have to ask, why do not we are making sure we have more? So here they are just a few benefits of sleep that can show why your health depends on it:

7. Your heart will be healthier. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have connected a good night's sleep with reduced risk of hypertension and stroke. Sleep less than four hours of sleep can double the risk of heart disease 8 .
8. will be less likely to get sick. Studies showed people who received seven hours of sleep each night were nearly three times more likely to catch a cold than those who received eight hours of sleep 9 .
To live a long and healthy life, you really need more sleep. Do not feel bad reorganize its agenda to include a night time longer sleep or a nap. Sleep is not just a luxury, when it comes to your health, it is a necessity.
