217 Pounds Pounds vs. 33
Tuesday, this photo appeared on my personal timeline of Facebook. It was 5 years ago. Neal and I had traveled to the Florida Keys for a week of vacation and enjoying our first day at the beach. He had been on Weight Watchers for a few months and was down to 217 pounds before going on my first Scaleless summer.
When I started coffee cake and Cardio, wanted to lose weight. I had joined Weight Watchers in the years 220 and was working to return to my lowest adult weight, 206. I remember feeling amazing on that vacation. It was back to size 16 and felt confident in what I was wearing. I remember points following the plan religiously Watchers weight and be reluctant to share my weight on my blog (I do not think you'll find it in the archives). I share my losses and even like that I can look back on what I ate , the training I was doing, and what were my results.
When I saw this picture, the other day, my immediate thought was: "Man !! I would not give to look like that again." It's funny because looking back, I was very happy, and yet, he was still working hard to lose more weight. I clearly was not satisfied with my weight at the time and was working to get back to my healthy weight. Had a lot of thoughts when I saw this picture ...
- Why I was so hard on myself then?
- Why am I being so hard on myself?
- I was working very hard to lose weight and succeeded
- I've done it before, I can do it again
- Man! I looked good.
- I was very happy
- need holiday Neal
- I weighed 217! It will be so hard to get back there
When I was talking to my dear friend Kelly no thanks to the cake , I realized! 217 seems to be so far. My brain perceives instantly 217 as something that will take a long time to achieve. Heck, 230 seems impossible some days. But then I realized, now I weigh 33 pounds more than 217. I lose 33 pounds! Why do I feel like 217 could not be achieved? What did I feel so defeated? I want to feel what I felt at that time again. I want to succeed and weeks to see results. I want to feel better and to see the victories, not only in scale, but in my day.
was difficult to get through this photo, but I'm glad I did! I was motivated.
Initial weight : 254 pounds
Week 3 Weight : 250.4 pounds
Week 3 Results : +1.5 pounds
Total weight loss : 3.6 lbs
I gained 1.5 pounds this week. I'm not surprised by the gain because it does not follow the plan of Weight Watchers last Thursday through Sunday during the trip and visit with family. Share more on the weekend here , but in the end, are not tracked consistently and ate a lot.
The last three days have been great. I worked out twice OrangeTheory followed everything I ate and stayed away from the temptations of office (donuts !!). I obviously did not want to see weight gain, especially in Week 3, but I know why I won. I think it's better than doing all you can have and still gain weight (it's frustrating !!).
Today I go to Dallas, Texas for a conference for 4 days. I eat out every meal, the 4 days. I will document everything and share here as in the CCC. My goals are simple ...
- tracking everything as in App Weight Watchers
- training every day
- drink plenty of water
As someone who weighs in on Wednesdays who want to escape the routine of having a good Wednesday and Friday in fighting over the weekend, and then work hard on Monday and Tuesday before I have to weigh Wednesday. It's easy to want to change my weighing date Friday, that way I have more time between me and the weekend before a weigh-in, but I will not change it. I will learn to be consistent, to work through obstacles, and to stay on track no matter what day it is. It's not easy, but I'm learning!
I'm proud of what I've accomplished these past 3 weeks and I know I will learn a lot during the trip these next 4 days.
