Children timidity Part 1
Who do you think you are?
I can still vividly see my mother standing in front of me, pitchers hands, his palpable anger and eyes narrowed as he spat out the words - "Who do you think you are 'My nine years? age did know, from experience, that was a rhetorical question, asked every time I needed to clarify that there was a boss in the house, and that was not me. I'm sure many of us can relate to this situation
this question makes his rounds for the day - from parent to child, teacher to student, subordinate chief .; and is still meant to be rhetorical I am also quite sure that many of us can still relate to this. . event through the various stages of life often think and think - what would happen if the parents asked that question with a genuine desire to hear the answer of his son
Here is what I think; ? if we ask that question with a genuine desire to hear the answer, we would be inviting our children to one of the most important conversations in life; a conversation that would help parents and child look beyond the surface and perhaps the child understand the fascination with insects, stones, books or anything else that consumes until they lose track of time. It would be a conversation that helps parents and children to connect the dots and opens the door to self-awareness. A very important conversation - do not you think
