Have you heard of superbugs? No, not a new horror movie franchise - that are even scarier. Superbugs are bacteria that have become resistant to antibiotics, and when treated with drugs, instead of disappearing and stop superbugs, multiply and thrive

The report highlights the problem of supply and demand that exists globally. The supply of new drugs is not enough to keep up with increased drug resistance, as the older drugs that had been taken off the market are now being used more widely and microbes have evolved to resist them.
At the same time, the study maintains, demand for medicines is very poorly managed, with large amounts of antibiotics wasted worldwide on patients and animals that do not need them, limiting availability which they can be really helped by them.
