What plan?

After great weight loss results during my second week in Weight Watchers, I knew I needed a plan to get into my third week. This week I was heading to Pennsylvania State University for two days, you have meals with the family planned for Saturday and Sunday, and will be at work all day, even on a Monday and half-day event on Tuesday. No routine days during my third week in Weight Watchers, I knew I had to find a way to make my Weight Watchers Points works.

Tonight returned from two days at Pennsylvania State University, two days of eating out, and I feel rough. I went on my trip with a plan to choose wisely when eating out, to keep track of everything you eat and drink as much water as possible. Thursday I started out on a good note. I made breakfast at home before leaving for Pennsylvania, egg whites (1SP) and bacon (3SP). It was not a great breakfast, but I wanted to save my SmartPoints for later in the day as we would be eating out.

Subway
Around 13:00 we reached the halfway point on our road trip and I was super hungry! We stopped at a gas station with a subway station, so we ordered a turkey wheat 6 inches (8SP) with no cheese, peppers, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, pickles, banana, 1 jet light mayonnaise (2SP). I felt good after eating my sandwich and drank water the rest of the way to Penn State.

Family
Penn State ran around most of the afternoon and stopped by the dairy around 17:00. I hesitated about whether or not to get ice cream, but Holy moly made everything look good. I ordered a cup of ice cream and ate it all. Looking back, I could have divided the cup with my mother or sister? If! I scoured the ice cream as 10SP, but honestly have no idea how many points it really was.

The Creamery Penn State
Thursday night is where things went crazy. We dined in the bar and brewery Otto. I ordered a beer to start and then had about 1/2 cup macaroni and cheese, 1/4 of an individual pizza, a second beer and 2 bites burger my sister. I have no idea how many points where what I ate and definitely struggled. It's funny because going into the dinner was like, "Ok, I'll have a beer and a salad." Then I came to the restaurant and was "OMG, how good it sounds all?!?". I struggled to keep my original plan and definitely ate more points I had left for the day and began to dip too far into my extra weekly points.

Otto's Pub and Brewery
late Friday morning, we had breakfast. I entered the breakfast with the plan to order a meal of egg. I figured I'd ask for a full vegetarian omelet or something egg-based. Well, I ordered the pecan pancakes as I was not hungry eggs. One thing I learned last year is to order what I want and not feel bad about it. I do not feel bad about ordering pancakes, but considering my meals on Thursday, I started to feel like my 3rd week is getting out of control.

Penn State
We have traveled around State College the day and then in the afternoon I had 1/2 sandwich and roast Wegmans 3 pieces of kale sushi rice before hitting the road to return to Washington DC. I've spent at dinner and I've just been drinking a lot of water.

I will confess that I am not really sure where to go from here. We have plans for lunch tomorrow in Washington DC with the family who are in the city and then plans Sunday morning breakfast with my parents. In order to make changes for life, not just temporary changes due to diet, I have to find a way to make this work. Being on the road was hard, but I will just prepare for a business trip to Dallas during my fourth week of Weight Watchers next week.

Actually I did not know what to do with my points because I ate so many these last two days, but all I can do is start fresh tomorrow. I can make smart choices when eating out tomorrow and Sunday and stick to my points assigned throughout the day. I know I can do this job and no matter the outcome of this week, I'm learning. In the end, I did not realize and know that some days are better than others. My ultimate goal is to look forward and be consistent over time.
