4th week of July Chronicle
This was a strange weekend. The weekend started out great, but we had a rough fourth of July. I am very grateful to have had three days with Neal and Magnolia and appreciate all that we are doing well into the new week.
Our weekend started with the visit of my father and a trip to the Amish Market. We love the Amish Market and had a great time walking with Magnolia. After nap magnolia had lunch (hot dogs) and then ran some errands.
We are planning to completely renew our basement bathroom and are taking steps to collect the tiles and accents now. I'm a big fan of stone and neutral colors, so I was happy with what we found at the Home Depot.
The weather was amazing on Saturday, so went for a very long walk before dinner. Once home, we made hamburgers, saw the National Party, then called it a night.
Sunday morning I woke up early and went to spin class. I have not been to turn in quite some time, so it was nice to see my friends and my own spin studio / favorite instructor, Wendye. The class was amazing and gave me a great workout in.
After class I stopped at the farmers market Olney. I bought some beautiful vegetables for the next week and then released by Safeway to pick up some staples.
The nap magnolia decided to go ahead and deal with painting the front door. I was very nervous about painting the door, but went really well. It was great to say goodbye to the brown door and hello to our beautiful blue door!
time began to go south Sunday afternoon and rain began to move. I was very nervous about the front door, but fortunately dry before the rain came. Magnolia was eager to leave the house, so we went to Target to walk. The day was fairly smooth, although I have not had much done, it was nice to hurt the time and expense of the gate with Neal and Magnolia (girl loves her hummus!).
Now Monday was a tough day. I woke up at 6:30 in the morning, I got ready for the day Magnolia, and then headed to OrangeTheory for class 7:30 am. The training was impressive, but really challenging. This is part of what treadmill looked like ...
Block 1
-3 minutes pace push
-1 minutes base rate
-1 minute all high
Block 2
-1 minutes pace push
base rate -30 seconds
-30 seconds overhand
-30 seconds walk (I've stayed in the rate base)
-Repeat combined all out and walk 4 times
Block 3
-Repeat of block 1
block 4
-Repeat block 2
in the second half of the class was also intense, but it was a great workout! After class I ran home and planned to make breakfast before jumping into the shower. We had tickets for the National Party, so we were planning to get ready pretty quickly and then hit the road.
While I was doing and breakfast Magnolia, Magnolia fell and hit his head pretty hard on our kitchen floor. It was really scary and Neal and I decided to take Magnolia to the emergency room immediately.
Magnolia was a soldier just thankfully left with only a big bump on his head. We were in the emergency room for a few hours, but made it home around noon. We missed the national game and we all take naps as soon as we got home. I was a hot yesterday and so upset Magnolia spill disaster. I felt so bad. You never want to see your son in pain.
was a very rough day in DC yesterday, so we spent the afternoon and evening inside. We saw an American Tail, went for a walk around the neighborhood in the middle rains, and enjoyed dinner as a family.
For dinner I made twice baked potatoes, corn on the cob, caprese salad, boiled shrimp and old bay. It was delicious!
After the magnolia went to bed last night, Neal and I watched fireworks DC on television, caught in some our DVR recordings, and then went to bed. I am grateful to be out of work this week and hope Magnolia heals quickly. We had a good weekend, but boy have a rough finish. I'm so glad Magnolia is ok!
