Hello everyone!

We are in the middle of summer and nothing is more uncomfortable than a bloated belly. This makes your clothes fit too tight, or nothing at all, and that can really turn your mood. Here are some of my favorite ways to help deflate your abdomen and tips to avoid bloating:

  1. Eat slowly. Chow down too fast and can swallow too much air along with the meal.
  2. Drink plenty of water. It sounds counterintuitive, but drinking water actually helps clear excess fluid from your body. (This is especially useful during that time of the month.)
  3. Stay away from sugar substitutes. Although it is not known exactly why these can inflate the abdomen, avoid them if possible. Not only to keep your flat stomach, but also because some studies show that consumption of low-calorie artificial sweeteners actually makes people gain weight. Go figure!
  4. Do not chew gum. It is believed to swallow too much air when chewing gum is chewed, and can fill your stomach. In addition, some gums contain artificial sweeteners which are believed to putt up. not sip from a straw. As with eating too fast and chewing gum, you can swallow too much air when you sip from a straw.
  5. Go easy on the salt. This may sound easy, but even if you do not reach for the salt shaker, a lot of foods have hidden sodium at that time. Be sure to read the nutrition label to see how much is hidden in their food. The American Heart Association recommends less than in 2300 milligrams (one teaspoon) per day.
  6. Avoid too many carbonated beverages. All bubbles in the glass their way into your abdomen.
  7. Mint drink or ginger teas. These spices are both reputed to help calm a belly too full (and nausea). Take a walk or do some other type of cardiovascular exercise. Sometimes just getting acquires physical dynamism into your abdomen.
  8. Sip warm water with a few squeezes of lemon. Hot water and citrus is believed to calm your stomach.
  9. Try some yoga postures. Like cardio workouts, yoga increases circulation, which can relieve fluid buildup that causes swelling. One that is believed to help. Lie on your back with your legs extended all the way to the wall
  10. Eat foods that naturally water flush with the body, such as asparagus and grapefruit.
