In one study, a group of healthy young women were divided in half. One half has created a calorie deficit by eating less, the other group creates a calorie deficit by developing 1 . After nine hours, they found that:

Another study conducted at the California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo had participants spend an hour or vigorous exercise or sitting quietly. After the hour, magnetic resonance imaging of the brain measured the participants' responses to images of food. This is what they found:
