Before working on health and fitness, I spent a good part of my adult years working around food and alcohol. I was a servant of all through college. Later I spend much of my writing career as a food editor. While (usually) have no qualms about exercising regularly, my love cocktail is a persistent obstacle to lose those last stubborn pounds - an obstacle that I am willing to overcome. Fortunately, there is a new trend to appear in cocktail bars also happens to be the waist to use.
More and more bartenders are mixing cocktails made entirely of liquor under test as Sherry, Lillet, or vermouth. Not only do these cocktails help prevent hangover the next day, but they are also lower in calories design. If you can reduce the alcohol content of a drink, the amount of calories it contains is also decreased. Andrea Tateosian, a waiter with hotel group Kimpton says that these drinks are perfect for their health-conscious customers, especially those who still want to enjoy a couple of drinks without being completely wasted. These drinks tend to be lighter than a whiskey "in your face" or glass of tequila, she says. "Maybe you do not need all the crazy things all the time."

An easy way to jump on this trend at home is making a splash, a simple recipe that pairs an alcohol low test with a little soda water (or sparkling wine) and citrus fruits, my favorite was refreshing and slightly bitter Aperol spritz . But if you feel more adventurous, start with Andrea recipe, which uses a thyme-lemon syrup and homemade Cocchi Americano Rosa , a spirit-based wine. The result is a cocktail that has a touch of sweetness to round out the flavors acid over American Rosa Cocchi.
Notes
To make the thyme-lemon syrup:
Bring 3 cups water to boil and add the zest of 1 lemon. Add a handful of thyme, and take water off the heat and let stand for 10 minutes. Add 3 cups sugar, and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Strain into a glass jar. Store in refrigerator for up to 6 months.
Ingredients
Cocchi Americano 1 1/2 ounces Rosa
1/2 ounce syrup thyme-lemon
3 ounces of soda water
Directions
Add Cocchi Americano Rosa and lemon syrup thyme-glass; stir gently. Add ice and top with soda water. Garnish with lemon zest, and enjoy immediately.
