After witnessing his two grandmothers suffer from dementia in old age, 40 years old, resident of UK Dean Ovel decided to do something drastic to raise awareness of chronic disease . That drastic thing involved a hamster wheel lifesize.

After creating a WordPress page JustGiving Ovel promised that he would run in a wheel giant human hamster whopping 24 hours for donations to his hospital Southend and subsequent to its facilities and the treatment of patients with dementia improvements. In a YouTube video before its entry into operation, Ovel explains how he built a prototype of the wheel with Legos and then took two weeks to design it and three other weekends to build it.
