Training for companies and both take calculated strategy, and there are many concepts that are conducive to success in both.

In my work, I oversee two graduate assistants and several managers (to help monitor our staff of about 40 employees) and one of the things we do throughout the year will be discussed articles on different topics related to business management and leadership to help bring our best organization.

One of the items that we discussed last year was a piece of Harvard Business Review titled 5 Questions strategy every leader should make time for. The article discusses the importance of taking time to sit and think about the big picture of your organization is, especially outside of time when you are running around the extinction of "fire." My mind immediately drew a parallel with the training, and the ease with which I struggle to see the largest among the high and low image of a training session.

3. Is my organization consistent with my strategy?

There are proven methods 5/3/1 behind, but you can follow the program without understanding the "why" and keep making great progress. Then as you begin to understand these reasons why the program, which will help in building your own philosophy (and if he continues to train with the program, use that program even more effectively) work.

5. What might be the long-term consequences?

This last question really unites all the above questions, asking how training every decision fits into the big picture. Organizations and their leaders are constantly faced with the decision whether or not to do something that is good for the short term, but may not be as conducive to success and long-term growth.

This can be applied to broader decisions as gathers choose to compete in, training partners surrounds, decisions lifestyle you do, all the way individual decisions as attempts at a meeting and assistance exercises in a training session.

I can not tell you how many times in a training session I've been tempted to do (or not do) something of ego, fear, or simply the preference; but I have known in the back of the head that will not help me in the grand scheme of things. His career as a powerlifter is defined by years of collective meets, built for weeks and weeks of training, consisting of countless training sessions, built from thousands of exercises, sets and repetitions. Make sure your decisions on the smallest level perspective that maintain large picture in mind, and you are building a solid path for long-term success.
