For someone who does not run, runners behaviors might be a little strange. The different positions of the strange "pasta" consuming a garment bag to put Band-Aids in the most precarious places ... everything is just a little different if you stop to think about it, right? Like, if aliens came down at this point, what the hell would think when they see a couple of thousand of people dressed in tutus to run a 5k?

And that's more or less the hilarious concept of the new book brokers North America: a definitive guide for species Mark Remy. More than 20 years ago, Mark Remy became a "corridor anthropologist" to understand these strange creatures (purely for research purposes, of course). He began to live among runners, gradually gaining their trust and "become" one of them. He trained, dressed, spoke, ate and drank like runners, and even socialized with brokers and date. To prove his loyalty, Remy went so far as to run distances ranging from 5K to marathons.

And this book includes everything you learned. It is a fun, easy to use guide to understanding this kind dresses bright and peculiar behavior. With chapters like "The 23 subspecies of corridors" and "Social Behavior and habits mating" brokers North America examines and explains the life of runners from all possible angles, while offering plenty of laughs along the way. We know that certainly as good as reading it.

So much so we asked to run an excerpt from the book, so you could break along with us.

a hilarious Q & a on the physiology of runners

the runners come in all shapes and sizes. This chapter aims to provide an overview of the characteristics shared by all, or at least most, runners. Let's start with some basic questions and answers.

Physiology

What kind of animal is the broker?
Runners are mammals, which means they have warm blood and suckle their young, but not during the race. Males are generally larger than females. And more sensitive to pain.

So runners are covered with hair or skin?
Yes. For men, this can make the removal of strips of problem nipples. You can also present problems in a very warm climate - as temperatures rise, the hairier the hottest male feels. Very hairy male runners are therefore more likely to take off his shirt. Men are also less want to see shirtless.

Runners "throw"?
In a manner of speaking, yes. Once a year or more - depending on the subspecies and the amount of disposable income -. Runners move, discarding their old running shoes and their replacement by new

Make runners carry their descendants with them while running?
Many do. Once babies have developed strong enough to sustain neck and head skin thick enough to withstand insults such as "Run, Forrest, run!" Strange, runners can take along racing wheel devices called "strollers."

Are all runners deaf?
n. This is a myth. It is true, however, that many runners in the last 15 years or so have sprouted small growths, or "buds" in or around the earlobes. These nodules make it difficult for them to hear, so you may have to shout to get their attention, warn them of the danger, etc.

How have adapted to runners climates very cold?
brokers have evolved to inflate themselves in a cold climate, adding layers of protection against the cold. Usually these layers are made of merino wool or synthetic materials designed to block the wind and water while allowing moisture to escape.

Are the corridors, on average, stronger than the beings humans?
n. Only stubborn.

Any other "species" that would like to see a Q & A? I think CrossFitters would be another hilarious. From jargon high socks, there is so much to have fun with. -jenn
