I watch a woman battled thyroid cancer and weight gain and Friendship With BBG
I found Whitnee Karuga in Kayla Itsines tour sweat in Los Angeles. In a sea of about 1,000 women, I saw Whitnee and his two friends, Bree and Catherine. Dressed in bright pink with a smile on their faces, Gravité to his energy and wanted to know more about your trip.
When Whitnee described how he got into the BBG program - and why continued - I was intrigued. His story really inspired me and showed incredible strength, courage and vision in the power of friendship in fitness.
Cancer Finding before their wedding
Whitnee has had a history of thyroid problems - it runs in your family, and she told us that her parents have suffered from similar ailments. In 2014 - only a few months before her wedding - Whitnee was on a routine trip to the doctor for a check of normal thyroid. "The doctor felt a lump in my thyroid," he told us. "I had an ultrasound, and had two bags .... [They] were too large to go without biopsy." They got the results, and were cancerous.
From there, he underwent total thyroidectomy - not in the way she preparing for her wedding imagined. Although he had a beautiful, happy marriage, his health problems became severe. "I think I had some problems with depression," he said. "The effects of low thyroid is activated ... As our first year of marriage happened, I kept the weight gain." It began with the feeling of swelling, and finally Whitnee could not "move or bend over." We said it earned at least 40 pounds in their first year of marriage.
The breaking point
"I had been asked if she was pregnant three times in a month ... That was the breaking point." Whitnee returned not only in the physical transformation that had suffered, but emotional as well. Your thyroid problems seemed to overtake their health and life.
Because the thyroid regulates metabolism, energy, humor, hair growth, hormones, etc. - And he is now living Whitnee without an underactive thyroid - she has to take medication to balance your body. But it was not enough. She began to look clean power. That's when things started to change.
"I had been asked if she was pregnant three times in a month ... That was the breaking point."
Finding Hope. . . and Equipment
"I had been following some Instagrams-eat clean, and Kayla [Itsines] kept popping up in my search channel," he told us. "I kept seeing the transformations of these women .... I do not think it never looks as good in a swimsuit." But she did not lose hope. "I wanted to lose some weight and regain my health."
The program guide bikini body (BBG) aroused the interest of Whitnee for the same reason many other women -. "Seemed so feasible still had such good results" Whitnee also liked women appearing on the page "were all sizes, all fitness levels" and that "seemed genuine." Through further research, he learned about the meal plan, which is called "well balanced."
But what resonated personally Whitnee Kayla was how relatable she appeared. Whitnee remembers times when Kayla admitted to "fail in things, but getting back up .... She allowed a meal trap, [and] had to deal with premenstrual syndrome and fatigue." Whitnee loved that Kayla was "human".
After following on Instagram Kayla for six months, Whitnee knew it was time to take action, and she opened the discussion to his friends. "I was telling Bree how I hated the way he looked and wanted to do this program Kayla, but could not do it alone. She said she would do with me."
Bree recruited his friend Christine, and In February 2015, the three of them had begun their journey BBG.
A healthy journey starts
Whitnee She refers to herself, Bree, and Catherine as the "three originals." - His group has fluctuated in size over the past year, but the three women could meet in LA Bootcamp have stuck together
Bree told us that houses the BBG workouts at home three days a week. At first, the program is constantly maintained for four consecutive months - three days a week, every week. Whitney said he had seen "substantial changes physically." She expanded on to say: "I had a lot of muscles that had never had before, had lost up to four inches in places I felt better physically, mentally ....." For someone who had dealt with the physical and emotional problems for years, this was huge.
But his journey has not come without setbacks. "Many things changed in all our lives [last year]," Whitnee said. "I started working more than 50 hours a week, Bree grandfather died, [and] the mother of Catherine died." Women glued to program everything he could, but when times get tough, decided to start again from scratch.
His commitment to the program and will restart all from the amazing results they felt. "We took measures, photos and kept track of our progress." Monitoring progress, associating with friends, and the realization of a setback is not permanent, that is the exact equation Kayla Itsines to maintain motivation . These women do not realize, but had positioned perfectly for a long and healthy trip.
Charging Ahead
reverses and breaks included, Whitnee has lost and kept off 15 pounds so far. "I'm still struggling with my low thyroid problems, but now I'm seeing a naturalist for the past month has put me on medication seems to be really working."
"I know that if I put my mind to it, with a little self-discipline, I can still feel good about myself."
She attributes her success to the easy ability to maintain and sustain training and nutrition program BBG Kayla and her friends to keep her strong and Kayla for being a constant source of inspiration. "Their messages still attract me," she said. "She's someone who really cares about helping women."
Its goal from the beginning was to feel good. "I never really focused on my weight as much as the way my clothes I left," he said. "I still feel that this program fits me and my abilities." He also likes that it depends on itself for motivation, but sees his friends and his "original BBG girls" for strength. "I feel much better than I used to," he told us. "I know that if I put my mind to it, with a little self-discipline, I can still feel good about myself."
