Prepping and the formation of a half marathon is almost - if not equal - as difficult as actually running those 13.1 miles. People can seriously underestimate the work involved, and details can often go overlooked. Taking all ordered the night before is a great way to reduce stress, calm the mind, and make sure your half marathon goes as well as possible - then it's just you and those miles

  1. Download carbohydrates . Have a nice dinner carby with some protein to make sure it is powered and ready for the next day and has enough calories to maintain long term. A pre-race ritual that I developed with friends is out for an Italian dinner early the night before a race. I would also recommend getting a BCAA drink , so you can start getting your body ready for the next day.

    8. Headphones : music listening? Get the playlist in order, and put the headphones for the rest of his team on race day.
  3. Set up your essential breakfast. Or, at least, take inventory! Does all food (and coffee!) You need to get going? Are you having a pre beaten the race? Make sure you have the right stuff in your pantry and refrigerator so that no problem in the morning, and you can focus your energy and efforts in his career. Prepping food a little goes a long way.
  4. Finding parking and transportation. How are you going to the starting line, and how you want to get home after finishing the race? Does your course has parking, or if you need to leave you? Compression stockings can also help circulation, so feel free to sleep in them. Try to go to bed early to make sure you have as much energy as possible, and do not forget to set your alarm!
