It's something I see all the time. Someone has done an incredible job in cultivating a new lifestyle and has lost weight.
Then life throws a lack of some sort (illness, injury, altered mood, party, birthday, holiday, promotion, etc.) and things are a bit smelly and new behaviors slide and recovered some weight.
Actually, this is real life. Our efforts, our motivation, that stresses us, our responsibilities -. That they are not straight
linesAnd with most areas of our lives, we agree with that. We are aware that our best efforts vary.
But not so much with weight control.
Often with weight control, light, slides related to real life behaviors and weight rises, led people to stop smoking completely. Suddenly they're up to two lbs, frustrated, and even worse, considering failure and impossible efforts.
It is at times like these that tend to remind people, as I did yesterday in my office with the patient whose chart is high, which has lost more than 30 pounds over the last 16 months and recently recovered 2, which is their decision if they want to receive their result be up to 2, or down 30.
If things are not going your way, if you are not satisfied with what you've been doing or not doing, rather than punished for it, rethink, respecting reality, and remind you that the best question you can ask is, " What can I do now that will help a little " and then do it.
