Matragyna Speciosa, also known as Kratom is a tree native to Southeast Asia. When consumed in low doses, it has an energizing effect. At higher doses, sedative effect and relieves pain. While it has recently captured in western culture, it has been used in Asian medicine for centuries. While kratom is legal in most countries, it became illegal in 1943 in his native Thailand.
During the 1940s, the Thai government taxed opium shops. Because of economic necessity, these taxes increased, and so did the price of opium. opium then began to use Kratom as a less expensive alternative. This would cause a decrease in opium sold and tax revenues the government would receive from opium shops. Because Kratom grew wild, the government found it almost impossible to regulate and tax it. For reasons of economic health, not the Kratom Act 2483 came into force on 9 August 1943. This it categorizes Kratom as a narcotic. Kratom trees were destroyed and Kratom users simply went back to using opium. Store sales increased opium and tax revenues were restored.
More than 70 percent of Americans take a prescription drug, and nearly half of the population taking prescribed medications two or more a day. Let's face it, we have become a nation of pill poppers. Its commonly it believed that almost any health condition should be treated with a pharmaceutical drug. Often drugs are prescribed to treat a particular medical condition, then other problems arise due to the drug itself. Overall, another drug may be prescribed to treat side effects of the first drug, and this process dominoes. The practice of medicine is not meant to do good to all. While not actually say that they intend to keep sick people, I will say that their intentions are to maintain a manageable so that a patient can tolerate and live with a disease condition or disease. If everyone could be cured of whatever prescription medications they take, there would be no need for both doctors or pharmacists. A $ 2 billion a year industry in the United States would be extinguished.
of Americans who take prescription medications, nearly a quarter of opioid analgesics take. Many of them live with chronic pain due to illness or injury in particular. This opiates prescribed usually requires only to function normally. When doctors prescribe opioids for chronic pain, know that taking these drugs for life for the patient. From the beginning, lower doses are prescribed hydrocodone, a tolerance is built over time, and then the dose is increased. This medicine can be effective for many years for some, but sometimes has no effect after only a few years. Once the drug is no longer effective, a stronger medication as prescribed OxyContin. While opioid drugs can provide relief to the patient, years of use takes a toll on the user liver and other internal organs. While the quality of life of the patient can be increased by reducing opioid pain, life is often shortened. Almost half of all drug overdoses in the US They are opiates, and this rate continues to rise. There are more opiate overdoses each year than cocaine and heroin combined. Some are alarmed by this, but nothing has been done to try to find a safe alternative for pain. Methadone and Suboxone are two drugs that are used as an alternative to opiates. These are also the drugs that have the potential for overdose and organ damage. They are mainly used for the treatment of opiate and heroin addicts, not as an alternative for someone who is taking opiates for pain relief.
Athletes of all kinds, from many levels are injured. Many feel the need to take opioids to train or play through pain analgesics. A bodybuilder can not take weeks off from the gym due to a minor injury if they are preparing for a competition, and NFL athlete will not take off on a Sunday due to pain, especially if the playoffs or a large contract line. Clay Matthews, linebacker Green Bay Packers, was recently named in a documentary for taking opioid analgesics. I do not know if the allegations against Matthews are true, I do know that analgesic use is common to treat pain in the NFL and other professional sports.
The main active ingredients in kratom are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. Both of these chemicals activate opioid receptors as synthetic opioids. Kratom initially has a stimulating effect, which is followed by a soothing and relaxing feeling. Nearly 30,000 people died in the US last year due to opiate related overdose. There have been some deaths linked Kratom, but all involved multiple drugs, and there is no solid evidence links any deaths to the use of kratom alone. With the apparent dangers of opiates, a natural alternative as Kratom must be met with open arms and an open mind.
Although more research is needed, Kratom appears to be a viable candidate as a natural alternative to prescription opiates. It is shown that it is much safer and have less potential for addiction and abuse. This can not be said of the millions of prescription pain medications are dispensed each year. While many swear by Kratom ability to relieve pain safely, there are closed-minded politicians who are trying to close the door to Kratom. Apparently, it's no different from what has happened with marijuana. Marijuana has been proven to relieve pain and has other medicinal purposes. It is illegal in all but a few states, while alcohol is legal to buy, consume and possess in every state of the United States. Alcohol has not been shown to have a legitimate medical purpose, and is linked to more deaths than any other mind-altering drug. Marijuana has proven to be much safer than alcohol, but the difference is that alcohol is regulated and a lot of revenue is generated by taxes on alcohol. Big Pharma generated a huge income. There is no way that politicians would allow any natural substance instead of a drug which is produced by pharmaceutical companies.
Kratom has been banned in four states. It is still unknown if other states eventually follow suite. The more it is used by the public, the more attention you will receive, and this will lead to greater scrutiny by the federal government. Its funny that politicians feel they are experts in every field imaginable. Regardless of what they do or do not know, they are the ones who ultimately decide whether Kratom, which has never been linked to one death when taken alone, can be taken instead of a class of drugs that kill 30K people to year . When looking at the numbers, the big drug companies are the real drug dealers and the drug war has forgotten the greatest player of all.
US citizens should have the right to take a natural substance to treat a condition instead of taking a drug that could be life threatening. Many have already made this choice with Kratom. If the ban takes place one day in Kratom, one can expect that the number of deaths from prescription painkillers to continue increasing.
