This roasted garlic pesto walnut free dairy uses grilled roasted garlic and fresh basil grown.
Summer is the best time to do one of my recipes-roasted walnut pesto fresh basil garlic favorite. I love simple flavors of this classic pesto. The roasted garlic is wonderful with roasted nuts, extra virgin olive oil, and lots of fresh basil from the garden. This is a perfect pesto sauce basil dairy summer.
The pesto is one of those versatile sauces that good at all. Try it on chicken or burgers on the grill. Use it as a dip for raw vegetables or a sauce of roasted vegetables. Add a little vinegar to it and make a salad dressing. And, of course, you can always pull Spiralizer zucchini noodles for pesto Pasta . The possibilities are endless.
This pesto is fast and easy to assemble. The ingredients are traditional, but substitute some lemon juice and extra salt for cheese, making this dairy-free pesto. Everything goes in the food processor and within minutes you have a walnut pesto roasted garlic paleo.
Ingredients
1/3 cup of organic nuts raw
1 head of roasted garlic
1 large bunch of basil, stems (about 2 cups)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup of organic extra virgin olive oil
sea salt to taste
Directions
- roasted nuts through the oven at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes, until lightly browned and fragrant. Let cool to room temperature.
- Squeeze roasted garlic cloves in a food processor and add the toasted walnuts and a good pinch of sea salt. Pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add basil and lemon juice. With the processor running, the current in the olive oil. Scrape the sides and process until combined. Add additional sea salt to taste.
